YNG ROCKSTAR - ARTIST/PRODUCER
YNG ROCKSTAR worked his whole life to become a modern day Rockstar. At the age of 15, he forced himself to learn how to write, sing, rap, perform, and produce music on different instruments. During his late teens, during the Great Recession of 2007, he and his family were faced with a stark period of homelessness. As he started to make sense of the world around him, this low point in his life became the moment that defined his future ambitions.
His career only began to take shape in 2009 when he found success as a front man for his band "Etienne Sin," who went on to trail blaze the independent Metal scene. Racking up millions of views online and tens of thousands of fans, he was able to tour around the country and experience the industry first hand.
In 2013, he used that success to form his own indie record label focusing on developing artists from the ground up. He quickly became a kingmaker by raising his own stars, such as bands like Live Like Glass and Desdemona, under his brand name. During this time, he focused on his skills as a multi-media producer, recognizing his talents as both a record producer and video director.
His strides with company refined his entrepreneurial sense and in 2016 he decidedly quit his "Etienne Sin" project to refocus on his first true love, Hip Hop music. After experimenting with the aesthetics and sound, two years later in 2018, he re-branded himself as a newly minted artist named "YNG Rockstar." He also took the steps to rename his record label to "Rebel Gang Records," a move that represented his status as a challenger of the status quo.
Rockstar serves Rebel Gang Records as a multi-media producer, artist, and spearheads it's vision toward the future.
